Bow view of COURTNEY BURTON as she sits under the coal hopper at Conneaut, Ohio, 2:06 p.m. 21 August 2005.

The BURTON had unloaded grain in Buffalo the previous day and sailed in ballast to Conneaut to load 15,000 tons of coal for Escanaba, Michigan.

The BURTON was recently part of a $120 million USD sale to American Steamship Company as its owners, Oglebay Norton, attempt to get out of the shipping business. The BURTON has been renamed AMERICAN FORTITUDE.
