Hello Stan,

Most reeferships are painted White; because that colour reflects the sunshine the best...
They normally carry cooled fruits, but also frozen fish and meat.Sometimes you recognize the older ships because you see the "ports" in the side of the hull.
They can be opened to let the stevedores through.
Nowadays most cargo is also carried in cooled Containers.
Many reeferships carry names with the words cool, ice ,arctic...a.s.o. so that you think of Cold ...

Photographed this one yesterday on The New Waterway (outbound), great shaped vessel. I wonder where she went in between. I uploaded the photo's in the general cargo category, because according to her Imo she is a refrigerated cargo vessel. I would like to know the definition of REEFER, because I don't know excatly when it is a reefer or not.
