thanks for your comment. I think you´re right. In "Lloyd´s Shipping Index" of Jan. 29, 1968 I found two ships with name "Dimitrios", one of 1963 and one of 1944. I guess i´ve mixed them up. So I changed the details above.

There is a tanker, Miramar ID 5419543, that carried the name Dimitrios between 1961 & 1975 that was also built by Sun SB & DD Co.Chester USA. She was converted to bulk carrier in 1963 so fits in nicely with Ilhan's line of thought.

There is a shot on this site by Gordon Dalzell of Dimitrios IMO 5419555 - a classic 3M built general cargo ship of the early 60's. This photo is certainly not of this vessel and so I conclude the IMO number given here is incorrect. I suspect Ilhan is much more on the right road to identification. Nice shot though !!

:-) No doubt the vessel was nice in 1963. Have serious doubt that the crew that brought her to the breakers in 1985 thought the same...
