In those days, I would take my boat out for almost any ship of interest that went by Verchères in good weather. I was quite younger then and very physically fit so as to back the car and the boat trailer down the launch ramp, launch the boat, park the car and trailer and be off in around two minutes to get a crack at a ship or two.
On some occasions, this scenario was repeated two or three times a day from mid-April to early in November. Winter was a very different story...
