The first real cold morning of our present winter with temps around -25C. Not particularly keen on a ship photographer's fingers...
CANADIAN PROVIDER as shown while downbound on the St.Lawrence River off Verchères on December 17, 2009. The ship is a steamer such as other older types of lakers which can still be seen on the Great Lakes hence the white plumes of vapor emitted by her stack in the brisk cold air.

Cela fait presque 40 ans que je photographie des navires et je demeure toujours à l'affût d'opportunités comme celle-ci de capter des images uniques de laquiers anciens par froids intenses. Ces vapeurs auront disparu dans quelques années mais je me réjouis de les avoir presque tous immortalisés dans de telles conditions.
