|Mercy Ships' M/V Caribbean Mercy at the former Rough and Ready Island Naval base, Stockton California, August 2000. Historic Fact-In this visit, The Caribbean Mercy became the first civilian ship to visit this port after the military handed it over to the city of Stockton.
This vessel was sold by Mercy Ships in 2006 and has been renamed Hope II. I understand it is the new owners wish to continue to use her as a hospital ship in the Caribbean Region. I had the privelidge to spend three months on this ship as a deckhand in 2000.
