Description:

The Cross Sound Ferry Cape Henlopen seen departing New London, Connecticut on April 10, 2010.

She was originally built as USS Buncombe County (LST-510), served in the D-Day Invasion, and converted into a car and passenger ferry in 1966 for the Lewes, Delaware-Cape May, New Jersey run. She was sold to Cross Sound Ferry in 1983 and continues to run, making her perhaps the only D-Day participant still in active service.
