Description:

20.04.2010. Originaly her name was "Mars", she was build 1939 in Germany. She was cargo-and-passenger vessel. 1945 - 1946 - Flag UK. Name - "Empire forth". From 1947 flag USSR. Name "Ekvator", "Admiral Makarov". After 2 years and 2 names she became reseach vessel. Name - "Vityaz". She made 65 trips between 1949 - 1979. During this trips Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans were reseached - hydrological, biological, geological reseaches were produced and she went 800000 nautical miles. She was in laid up between 1980 and 1991. During this period she was plundered and went to ruin. In 1992 - 1994 she was repaired and became Museum in Kaliningrad.
