Southern Cross was my favourite Shaw Savill liner ~ served on her 1967-1969 then last two voyages in 1971 before she was taken out of service. I have fine model in glass case in my 'office' at home belonging to the Shaw Savill Society in NZ, have been custodian of the model since the Shaw Savill Line passenger office closed in Auckland

What a nostalgic photo for me ~ my first trip on Southern Cross sailing 7 Dec 1967 - I was allocated the pilots cabin, just aft of the bridge, and just out of view on top deck, in fact, this was my personal bronzy deck! Jamie, the Purser

Thank you for the compliment but if you could see the original scan you'd see how much work was done to get it to this look.

Hayden.

I can Imagine. Good work. :-)

I'll have a try at this soon as an uncle of mine is giving me 30/40 y-o photos to scan soon. I'll have fun(!) during the winter months :-P
