Description:
The 1,000 foot Great Lakes bulker Stewart J. Cort, built in 1972, approaches the narrows at Mission Point on the St. Mary's River at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan on May 25, 2010. The first of the 1,000 footers built, as indicated by the "#1" on the aft superstructure, the Cort and its mates are captive to the Great Lakes, being too large to pass through the Welland Canal.
