Vessel is re-named to MS Spitsbergen and currently located at Fosen Ship Yard in Rissa, near Trondheim, Norway. She will operate Norwegian coast from May 2016 until May 2017, then will go to Arctic exploration cruise for summer season. She will not carry cars anymore :) |
Arrived Landskrona as NORWEGIAN EXPLORER 6 July.
Now Norwegian flag (c/s LAWD7, MMSI 258157000), owners Hurtigruten - see Equasis. |
That is almost certainly only an intermediate name.

Media reported Atlantida sold and renamed to “Norwegian Explorer”. >>Los medios marítimos portugueses informan de la reventa del ferry “Atlántida” a la naviera noruega Hurtigruten, en la que, después de unas obras para su transformación en buque de turismo, navegará con el nombre de “Norwegian Explorer” |
she looks like a nice vessel, only the Azorean Government dont see that... |
Is she still available for sale? May I know where is her location now or the operator? or maybe her name already changed? |
Ahhh, Venezuela, the country that is buying up all the unwanted European ferry/cruise tonnage (STENA DISCOVERY and possibly a sister ship, and the old BLACK PRINCE).
Brgds.

Last news -the ATLANTIDA sold to Venezuela Gov. to operate isla Margarita service by a new state operator. |
Of course, how could I forget Jadrolinija. I'm sure they could use this vessel. I do believe her car capacity is quite limited, but I'm sure she would do well on a service calling at a number of the smaller Croatian islands...

Hi Ralph,
It seems that she is still waiting for a buyer... I agree with your listing of possible buyers, however I'm sure we should add Croatian Jadrolinija to the list.
Thanks for comment;
kind regards

Is she still laid up? I wonder who will buy her. Surely, she would be a nice vessel for a Greek operator (if they have the money) or an Italian operator like Medmar...
Brgds.
