Description:

BHP bulk carrier Iron Cumberland arriving at Bluff. She was completed by Hellenic Shipyard in 1973 and the following year joined the BHP fleet as Iron Cumberland. Sold to Hong Kong owners in 1986 she was renamed Cumberlande and on 12 June 1987 she sank northeast of Pitcairn Island when en route from Newcastle to New Orleans. All aboard were rescued by the British container ship Act 5.

I just finished reading "Return of the Coffin Ships" which discussed its sinking (among many others). In your experience, what was her condition like? From what I read her condition was a cause of Cumberland's sinking.
