HANNAH 5101, pushed by tug JAMES A HANNAH, is shown while tied up at Wharf 2 of the Welland Ship Canal, 8:39 a.m. 17 September 2005. The barge was loaded with a cargo of liquid asphalt, heavy fuel oil, and diesel fuel for delivery to Valleyfield, Quebec.

The day before, while downbound above Lock 2 of the Welland Canal, the barge suffered a boiler explosion, and emergency crews were called to the scene. The barge was not heavily damaged; however an inspection had to be completed before the vessel could resume its downbound transit.
