Description:
One of the biggest repair contracts awarded to the Firth of Clyde Drydock at Inchgreen,Greenock was the repair in 1971/72 of the Bibby Line 150000dwt ore/oil carrier OCEAN BRIDGE which had suffered a serious explosion whilst tank cleaning when operating as a tanker. There were fatalities, unfortunately.
She was towed to the Clyde and this was taken at the Great Harbour in Greenock in October 1971 a few days after she arrived where the extent of the damage can be clearly seen.
