The HORIZON CRUSADER continues to languish at Violet LA., since being towed in last December.
With a little bit of online sleuthing I found out she was purchased by SOUTHERN RECYLING Co. of New Orleans. The company recently purchased approximately 344 acres of batture land and 117 acres of contiguous dry land in St. Charles Parish ( Westwego), about 20 miles up the Mississippi River from New Orleans where they plan to do thier ship demolition. Apparently, at the moment, they are having issues with OSHA on it"s ship recycling guidelines, so one wonders when the actual scrapping will start.
