Description:

On 03.01.1980 the vessels DORA RIPARIA and BUENOS AIRES II collided in the German Bight. 39 persons were rescued. 2 sailors of BUENOS AIRES II died. I took these photos with my old camera some days after the accident. Therefore I have to apologize for the poor quality. Note the contour of DORA RIPARIA's bow in the deck house.

Does anyone know where Buenos Aires II was rebuilt before being sold to Greek owners. Was it in Germany or in Perama.

That was the first collision I had dealt with as a P&I correspondent. The Buenos Aires II became a constructive total loss.
