Great photo from the beginning stages of her conversion into a hospital ship. I have a friend who is an officer onboard. The conversion though slow is nearly done and she should be at work in Africa in the next few months. The plan is for her to take over the work of the Mercy Ships flagship Anastasis who at 54 years old is apparently slated for retirement next year. The smaller Caribbean Mercy is being decomissioned as we speak. I spent three months as an AB on the Caribbean Mercy in 2000. Sad to see the old beauties go.
