LCH 243 Built in the USA in 1942 and transferred to the Royal Navy under lend/lease agreement. Formerly a Landing Craft Infantry,she was converted to a LCH (Landing Craft Headquarters). She was in service until 1952 then deleted shortly afterwards.

I have a photograph of the same LCH taken in 1950. Only information I have is as follows:-
Including those on loan to other navies and those on charter, there were 57 landing ships, all but five being of the LST (3) type.
