The Uruguayan registered vessel, Maya V, arrived in Fremantle harbour, in WA, at 9am Sunday February 1st 2004, escorted from a point
in the Indian Ocean by the Australian Navy frigate Warrunga.

But I spotted her a long time before she was captured in late January in Australia's exclusive economic zone around the remote Heard Island and MacDonald Islands by a boarding party of seven navy personnel.

Mid-way through the Atlantic Ocean, in November 2003, I crossed Maya V on my way, as she was unloading toothfish in Walvis Bay, Namibia with the Navalmar-owned vessel Carran.
