USS Benfold (DDG-65) berthed at Valparaiso while she visit this chilean harbour with the nuclear powered aircraft USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76), the guided missile cruiser USS Thomas S. Gate (DDG-51) and fast replenishment ship USS Camden. Behind the US Navy destroyer is possible to see part of the chilean fleet.

Nice picture Luis,

I remember this harbour very much from over 40 years ago...To the right looking inland you saw small trams moving uphill. Are they still there??
Sorry (I regret...)that you didn't answer/ react on my comments on "Huascar" and did not answer my question about Talcahuano!

The small trams that you mentioned still exists, they are an traditional touristic attraction. The oldest is at Baron Hill and it has over 100 years and it is different to the rest, it is an vertical elevator located inside a tower with a bridge in the top that lin k the tower with the hill.
