In her later years, ESSO YORK was used for lightering VLCCs in Lyme Bay. The davits for the fenders used in these ship-to-ship transfers can be seen on the port side.
Before conversion for lightering, as seen in Bob Smith's photo, she spent much of her time delivering products from Fawley.
