Description:

Classic Dutch ferry Koningin Juliana passing Felixstowe outward bound from Harwich. Built Cammell Laird & Co. (S.B. & Eng.) Ltd., Birkenhead, and completed 26:09:1968.

In 1985 she was sold to Nav. Archipelago Maddalenimo S.p.A., and renamed Moby Prince. On 10 April 1991, she was in collision with the Italian tanker Agip Abruzzo and gutted by the ensuing fire which claimed 143 lives.

The wreck was eventually towed to Aliaga for breaking in July 1998

The burned-out wreck was tied up to the dock in Livorno for years and presented a grim sight to seamen on ships arriving in port. The lifeboat falls were still in place, but the fiberglass lifeboats themselves had apparently all been consumed in the fire. The longshoremen used to claim that you could hear the moans of ghosts late at night, but it was probably only the wind whistling though the broken windows.
