Description:

The minesweeper HMS Bronington, launched in 1953, was one of the last of the Royal Navy's wooden-hulled vessels.
During her service she was commanded by HRH Prince Charles in 1976. She was decommissioned in 1988 and was originally preserved at Salford Quays by the Bronington Trust of which Prince Charles was patron. In 2002 she was moved to Birkenhead to become part of the Historic Warships collection. Since the collection was closed in 2006 she has remained at Birkenhead and is now in a corner of the West Float where she is looking increasingly derelict. Photo taken on 26 February 2011.
