Not seen any mention elswhere, but for readers who may be interested: Following the 8.8 earthquake & subsequent tsunami which devastated much of Talcahuano, the "Huascar", although breaking free from three of her four anchors, suffered very little damage and is back "On Station".

The old tail number of the F-16 sold to Chile can be found in That link is the most complete Internet address about this fighter.
About Huascar, this ironclad is still moored in the same place in Talcahuano, but every year, she is towed into a dry dock in order to give it the properly maintenance. In the last "refit" several iron sheets of the hull were changed.

You're in truth about F-15 and the F-16. Our Air Force bought 10 F-16 Block 52 and 18 ex nethrland's F-16 MLU Block 15. Our air force will have 28 F-16 and it is possible more.

Hello there,

Nice to hear from you after such a long time.I don't agree with you about the best fighter!!!To my opinion(and my - late- son's) it's the F-15 Eagle and then of course F-16 fighting falcon.Nice that your country has a new - woman- president!!
I remember from 45 years ago: written in the slopes of the Cordilleras : "Frey sabe lo que el Pueblo quiere; por seso el Pueblo quiere a Frey".
Although in dutch; look at my www.!!!

Muy buenas dias,

As a merchant navy officer in Comp.Real.Holandese de Vapores I sailed a lot of times to various Chilean ports from Arica down South to Puerto M.montt. That was long ago(40 years...) I saw the ship in the port of Talcahuano; when I remember well?
Your username intrigues me very much; because my late son was a F-16 fighterpilot in Dutch Royal Airforce.
I love your country very much:
Blanco, Azul y Rojo, Colores de mi Bandera...
Regards from Geert van Kesteren de los Paises Bajos(Zappa's Dad)
