Photo: Saint-Petersburg, the river Big Neva. It is moored at ship-building factory the Joint-stock company "Admiralty Shipyards".

After successful running and mooring tests the enterprise of defensive industry OAO Center Ship Repair "ZVEZDOCHKA" in Severodvinsk, specializing on repair and recycling nuclear submarines has transferred on July, 24th, 2010 to Navy fleet of the Russian Federation saving towboat ZVEZDOCHKA (600).
The vessel is multi-purpose and is intended for performance of search and rescue works, sea transportation of cargoes, containers and large-sized samples of technics, the research and test equipment, including its towage, installation and an overload.

The vessel project is developed by ship builders of Central Sea Design Bureau "ALMAZ" in the city of St.-Petersburg. 

The saving towboat also can provide: tests of sea technics and arms; researches and lifting of fragments of the sunk ships and planes; to make the works connected with use and lifting of large-sized floating and ground objects. With that end in view the vessel is equipped by the load-lifting cranes located in a fodder part which, including, are intended for descent-lifting of saving devices of type BESTER from cargo hold and provide processing of cargoes in ports or not equipped coast.
According to founders, saving towboat ZVEZDOCHKA (600) can be used and as the research vessel in interests of studying of shelf deposits, transportations of sites of pipelines and to perform other works connected with offshore activity. For change of watches with a vessel the platform for manufacture of landing and launch of helicopters is mounted.
