29m Brig, made of steel. Built by Groves and Guttridge at Cowes, Isle of Wight to a design by Colin Mudie TS Royalist was named by Princess Anne on 3rd August 1971.

Royalist is owned and operated by the Sea Cadet Association, the parent charity of the Sea Cadet Corps.

Based at HMS Dolphin Royalist sails the coasts of the United Kingdom and the near Continent.

A major refit in 1992 provided an opportunity to modernise Royalist and fit her for a further 20 years of service.
