Greetings again, John!!!! I've struck a few local pictures of ships leaving Point Cartwright headed down to Brisbane, submitted to Marinetraffic and his name is, Gary Gillies. They're not the quality of yours, but they are taken virtually while I'm watching the ship sail on Marinetraffic. And they are taken from a house yard so near to where we are, that I'm trying to make contact with him and share our shipping experiences. I've rung all of the local G. Gillies, with no results!!! So I've virtually given up!! I have e-mailed my request to Marinetraffic, but don't expect any news, really!!! You wouldn't happen to know of him, surely!!! Louis again and thanks for your prompt reply, with interesting news, re the new Gateway Bridge!!!

HI LOUIS,
The new Gateway Bridge has a walkway/cycleway on its eastern side which means you can only see downriver. You can only access it at the moment from the raods near the approaches. Later there will be a dedicated carpark etc.
Cheers,
John

Greetings John!!! been a jolly long time and you sure post some great ship pictures. And especially these of the Pacific Sun as it sailed out of Brisbane. I'm forever searching MarineTraffic and enjoy it immensely and in cooperation with QShips Site, have the whole scene of local shipping at my finger tips!!! How in the world, were you able to take pictures from the Gateway Bridge. I was sure that folks wouldn't have anywhere to walk on the bridge. Maybe you were on the second Gateway bridge. Keep up the great work and I'm still in close contact With Deb in Marine Safety etc. Now again with Sinasi ( hard to spell his name ) Best Wishes, Louis Jones in BOKARINA!!

She looks like a floating box!

Hi Sinisa,
No holes - you have to take shots through tinted glass. There are no provisions for any cameras whatever - very poor planning. There are three observation areas, each with one window only and they are spread evenly across the bridge. Walk to the top takes about 20 minutes so be prepared.
Cheers,
John

Nice shot, John! Is there any other "hole" in the fence at Gateway bridge or just in the middle?
