Description:
Spotted in CARENA shipyard in Abidjan in March 2001. You can see two supply boats very typical of offshore activity in West coast of Africa during the 90's: M/V SCHILDTURM from OSA fleet and the M/V BARTON TIDE from TIDE WATER fleet.

Hello Ralph & Phil,
You're may be rigth, but at time of these pics, all these laid up supply boats was supposed to be abandoned in the best case or scrapped in the worse case. Furthermore they were dismantled piece by piece to refit other boats that were really still in service not visible on the pics. However, do you think it would be better to place these pics elsewher in the site ?

I agree Ralph. There is no evidence of shipbreaking activity in the photo. It looks more like a typical offshore lay-by or lay up area.

Pascal, are you sure this is a scrapyard? Both the SCHILDTURM and the BARTON TIDE are still in service in 2011...
