I sailed on her as mate from Emden to Ramsgate with CKD-boxes in September 1972.

Chris: that aforementioned German flag plus a (British) courtesy flag on the stbd cross tree should have minimised guesswork required to know it wasn't Kiel Canal. Must try harder!!!

Once again the drawback of the negs I have.
Each packet has ship details but no location or date in general so I make an educated guess !

this photo is taken at Southampton not Kiel Canal.
there is a Red Funnel Southampton-Isle of Wight ferry in the background and also a Red Funnel tug to the left.
