1997-28-mei.Arrived at Mauritius anchorage with a vertical crack of about 95 cms on the port shell No.3 hold.She was inward bound from Vietnam with a cargo of 12.000 tons of rice destined for the west coast of Africa.
The crack was partially repaired but she was arrested by the cargo owners on account of the delay and the rice was subsequently transhipped.The crew later left the vessel,leaving the master alone to await instructions from the owners who ar believed to have gone bankrupt.She has no classification certificate,is considered unseaworthy,and will not be allowed to sail until repaired.The director of Shipping is reported to have taken possession of the vessel wich will be sold.(source:Marine News No.2 february 1998)
