Owned slide with copyright
Leadship of the Kiev class, Kiev,Minsk and Novorossiysk and Baku,renamed Admiral Gorshkov,later sold to India and renamed Vikramaditya.
Although classed by Janes as Aircraft Carriers they were designated as Anti Submarine Cruisers by the USSR,later this was changed to Tactical Aircraft-Carrying Cruiser.

Completed 1975, officially entered service 1977.
1989-1993 in reserve.
Withdrawn as seen 1993.
1996 sold to China for use as a museum ship arrived Tianjin 2004.

The KIEV along with the MINSK, both sold to China to be used as floating hotels are to be reactivated for military use by China.

Great shot Chris, I seem to have overlooked this one previously.
Severomorsk is not in the Ukraine, it's in the far North of Russia. The setting looks more like Murmansk actually.
