TIDEO was built at Palermo, Italy, in 1955 for Societa Ligure di Armamento, a Genoese company formed in 1917. Sold East in 1976, she was renamed TONG SING, then in 1978 COSMOS SUCCESS and in 1981 FAIR MARINE of Singapore.

Thereafter there are conflicting reports of the ship's status. Reported in LSI still as FAIR MARINE in early 1983, Miramar indicates that she was sold to the Government of North Korea in 1981 for whom she traded as SUNG CHEN until being broken up at Ko Sichang during 1984
