Description:
Polish Steamship Company's 1943 Wm. Gray, West Hartlepool, built Empire B Type KOPALNIA WUJEK is seen transiting the Kiel Canal westbound on 10th July 1969.
Built as EMPIRE UNICORN she was sold to France in 1945 and renamed PIERRE FORNIOUX, then in 1950 SAINT ANDRE. She took the name OTELLO in 1953 and APOLLO in 1956 before being purchased by Poland in 1961. She was hulked at Gdynia in 1970 and the hulk towed to Spain for scrapping in 1987.
