Description:
Eastbound in the Kiel Canal on 30th June 1971 is the Polish owned, Swan Hunter built, Empire Y Type variant BALTYK.
Built in 1942 and delivered directly to the Polish Government, she was operated by Polish Ocean Lines between 1951 and 1964, then by Polish Steamship (PZM) until sold to Spanish breakers in 1973, her name being shortened at Lubeck to ALTY for the voyage to Santander where she arrived on 20th August 1973.
