Location:Avonmouth, Bristol, United Kingdom
Photo Category: General cargo ships built 1940-1949 (Over 3000gt)
The C1 type CAPE TRADER was photographed passing Portishead, inbound for Avonmouth, on 30th October 1965.

Built at Staten Island in 1941 as CAPE COD, it would seem that she continued in the U.S. reserve fleet until sale in 1964 to Liberian flag operators who traded her for four years until arriving at Onomichi on 29 June 1968 to be broken up.

The Liberian flag operators were Ship Services Limited of Hamilton, Bermuda, the former Amerind Shipping Corporation. As indicated by the funnel markings, this company was associated with Isbrandtsen Co.Inc.
