Description:

S 622 is an ex-German pocket submarine S 90, type "Seehund"
Made in april 1945 and captured by French forces during the summer of 1945 in the port of Dunkirk. Made 4 of them ready for duty again in the harbour of Toulon. S 90 was renamed S 622. She was loaned by US navy and did 60 missions and covered 1400 nautical miles near the coast of San Diego. The missions took between 1 week and 2 weeks at sea.In 1989 S 622 was restaured and put on display in the Maritime museum at Brest, France.
