|Berge Edda sailing from the Bonny River. One of four sisters for Bergesen from the company's Rosenberg M/V A/S shiptard at Stavanger she was delivered in 1962. At 54760 tons dwt she was considered a large tanker in those days and was also a motorship, being powered by a 10 cylinder B&W developing 21000 bhp to give a speed of 17 knots. Sold in 1966 she was renamed Potomac and in 1978 was broken up at Kaohsiung. |

Hi Dedge, I was on this old tub for about 6 months. Steered her all the way in to dry dock in Rotterdam Nov. 7th 1966, when she was sold! Also went to Bonny Nigeria 3rd - 4th June 1966.I wonder if I'm on board in this photo! |
