Description:

Photographed by John Wiltshire at Barry on 23.8.74, Reederei Nord Klaus E.Oldendorff's NORTHERN BREEZE, the former WESTFALEN, built in 1956 which became VOLTA VISION in 1972 before taking the name NORTHERN BREEZE in 1973, was wrecked off Punta Horcon, Quirinto Bay, on 15.9.75 during a voyage from Houston to Talcahuano

Indeed, this ship ran aground in some rocks in Punta Horcon in Quinteros, Chile when the vessel was in transit to Valparaiso, the vessel was sailing very close to the coast, it was said that the ship was smugglering different products.

Some remains of the shipwreck can still be seen from the coast in the rock.

I photographed this ship same spot same time, but years later I could never identify the ship from the photo - this clarifies, thanks :)
