Hello Sander, thanks a lot, it was a fine morning, with decent weather, and a nice ship. So it really was a win-win, hahaha!

Hi Chris, yeah, it was of much importance, that sinking. The government and the royal family got to escape abroad, and i guess it was a big symbolic win for the resistance who later fought against the overlords. Highly reccomended to go for a visit at Oscarsborg, there is a very nice exhibit out there.

The loss of the Blucher definitely shocked the Nazis, at first they thought she had been mined, and only just in time the second cruiser Emden stopped before she came into the firing zone when they realised the Blucher had been torpedoed.

Hi Chris, thhanx for the story! This shot is made at Drøbak, about an hour, hour 15 minutes out of Oslo, travelling at 15 knots. Very nice place, Drøbak. This is the also the place where the "Blücher" was sank, exactly at the place Ryndam is at the picture.

Holmestrand: In my homecounty Vestfold.

Beautiful Tomas can taste the atmosphere.

Still remember my trip in a small speed boat from Oslo around to Drammen then Holmestrand, after I signed off the Torrens in 1977 when I was 20.

We followed a Fred Olsen Ro/Ro which eased the sea conditions.

No insurance new Nikon's, not a care in the world when your young ! We were all eager to get to the pub at Holmestrand that night so maximum speed was called for.
