The 09-05-2001 at Nyborg
1937: built as m.v."Dana".This ship was built on behalf of the Danish Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries. The "Dana" was designed and built as an ocean-going ice class ship. During its period of service for the Danish government, it was frequently used for marine biological research, not only in Danish waters but also in international ones.
1939: Lenghtened by 9 metres. 1980: The "Dana" was sold and sailed under the name "Dana Researcher" for Bertra international.
1984: The "Dana Researcher" was sold to Esvagt. After sailing for many years as a research ship and on all the oceans,she was used as an offshore support ship. The ship was used for offshore support for several years under her new name of "Esvagt Dana".
2000: The "Esvagt Dana" was sold to the Danish Nyborg Nautical College. Then the "Esvagt Dana" was renamed the "Dana Nyborg". During this period, the ship was used as a training ship for the Danish Nautical College.
2007: The "Dana Nyborg" was sold to P&T Charters. These entrepreneurs from the commercial sailing sector are converting this ship into a fast three-masted topsail schooner.(rebuilt by Balk Royal Shipyard at Urk.)
New name "Gulden Leeuw".Dutch flag.
