I sailed aboard this vessel as an Oiler for most of 1990 and 1991. Very poor mechanical condition (it was bought literally from the scrapyard in Orange), but Coastal was willing to spend at least a little bit more than they absolutely had to. It was equipped as an asphalt carrier after its NNSY rebuild in 1980(?)...insulated center cargo tanks with high-pressure steam heating coils and steam traced cargo lines and pumps. We also carried a lot of crude oil from Venezuela and the Panama pipeline terminal.
