I think the date is correct as Rick used a date stamp on all his slides after 1988.

Compare with bow view which incidentally shows a large launch on the top deck, how did they get it off ?

Perhaps this was the best looking Statendam Holland America ever built, I don't know if Rick was at the lookout the same time as I was, but I have a pic. almost identical! mrdot.

Make that 1957 Chris. I think this shot was taken after she'd been refitted with diesels from one of the old Johnson Line container ships. Scrapped at Alang as HARMONY I in 2004.
