-18 Class Submarine (Holland-type): Laid down, 17 April 1919, at Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corp., Quincy MA.; Launched, 9 November 1922; Commissioned, USS S-29 (SS-134), 22 May 1924; Decommissioned, 5 June 1942; Transferred to the United Kingdom; Commissioned into the Royal Navy as HMS P 556; Returned to US Naval custody, and struck from the Naval Register, 26 January 1946; Final Disposition, sold for scraping, 24 January 1947, H. G. Pound, Great Britain.
