Description:

TORCH, former coaster, lastly buoy and lighthouse tender, now unnamed, berthed along the Koningsweg in Vlissingen (Flushing) Inner Harbour, The Netherlands.

She was moored here 21 July 2011 by harbour tugs VLB-2 and VLB-7 about 19.50 hours local time, from Flushing Roads.

Built as Danish coaster MISTRALEN in 1964 by Sønderborg Skibsværft A.S., Sønderborg (# 40). On 24 July 1997 she was laid up in Poole, 2001 in Plymouth (Oreston Quay), later in Portland and from 8-9 October 2006 moored to buoys in The Swale, west of Queenborough, Isle of Sheppey, Kent (of the last two spots photo's are on Shipspotting, press the IMO-number-link).

Offered for sale in May 2011 by Capital Boats, London (see http://narrowboats.apolloduck.co.uk/feature.phtml?id=91108).

Update:

Between 8 and 10 August 2011 she was towed from Vlissingen (Zeeland) to Kootstertille (Friesland) by tug ANNA 6 (ENI 03051710) of Bokschoten Sleepdienst, Hooghalen and pusher tug FLEVO TRANS (ENI 04023150) of North Trans Scheepvaartbedrijf, Damwoude.

In Kootstertille the ship will be scrapped by Theo Reitsma Recycling, Oastkern 18, 9288 XJ Kootstertille.
