Yep, the beer-price is embarrasing. On my journeys for P&O to Flaam, i asked some tourists about how they found the prices, and they were pretty satisfied after all, but the beerprices raised one or two eyebrows.
If ever in Flaam, try the beer here, best i ever tasted:

Expensive, you say! Beer at nearly £8 a pint! And it rains a lot. Beautiful country, though: when you can see it through the rain/mist - and, of course - particularly nice people.

Sorry to hear that Clive. We had no such trouble. Arcadia is an adults only ship, as is the smaller Adonia. After her refit, Oriana will be adults only too.

Woops!! Sorry guys but I'd have bet anything at all that I saw the category as the 2001-2010 ships. I even went and checked to make sure of the exact date of her entry into service. Red face time here then. Tomas, thanks for your comments. I certainly like the look of Aurora much more than Oriana, in fact despite not wanting to sail with P&O again, I think that Aurora is the best-looking ship in their fleet. My experience on her was based upon her first Christmas cruise - she was too crowded and with way too many badly behaved children (and adults) on board. After all, you don't expect fights in the bars and having the ship vandalised during your cruise.

...yes, and I'll also complain that this is in the wrong category. Aurora entered service on 1 May 2000.

Hi Phil, thank you for very nice info!
I have sent an email for you.

Fantastic shot as always Tomas. Useless but interesting fact is that Aurora is commanded by P&O Cruises first and only female captain, Sarah Breton. Curious to read that you make commercial shots for P&O but good for you. We sailed on the Arcadia last month on a fantastic Med cruise. We liked it so much that we've booked another cruise for next year. We couldn't fault P&O nor the passengers, though you always get the occasional grumpy old sod who complains about everything.

Oh I see, a cheap way to publicise your birthday eh?
Oh well, "Gratulerer med dagen!" in two weeks time!

Hi Clive! Thanks for your very interesting comment.
Well, as i make pictures for P&O for commercial use, the Aurora was the first ship i was about to make shots of, she will somehow allways have a place in my heart. And i like her lines, allthough i like Oriana better.
Sad to read about the bad experience onboard. I havent been there yet, but planning something next year. I can understand about the size of the ship.

Thank you again!
Tomas

Tomas, I'm interested to learn that you regard Aurora as being one of your favourite vessels of all time. I was very impressed when I first saw her and went aboard he but a subsequent cruise on her made me vow never to sail P&O again. I have to admit that was more as a result of the passengers than the ship, though I did find her to be too large for my tastes.
