and reenamed GUARDIAN CARRIER in 1963 Renamed ROBERT KOCH in 1977.240'11"x38'2"x16' converted to a barge around 1983 and grounded in Lake Ontario near Oswego N Y 15/12/85 Seen in the Welland Canal Nov 1982 Later scrapped starting in 1986

I was a seaman on her when she was trading the New Zealand coast. She went form the top of NZ to the bottom of NZ in any weather, bit slow at times but always got there. Sad to see what happened to her after going to Canada.

Most Everhard ships in there "yellow" colour never looked nice.
this one looks more like a submarine.
I am glad they d'nt build them anymore.
Everhard is now part of James Fisher & Sons.

She was in the welland canal allmost every day with her short run from Clarkston,Ont to Buffalo, N Y

Very true mrdot. She may have been a coaster, but the old Ethel Everard must have travelled further around the world than many ships bigger than herself. After trading around UK/nr continent, travelled South to operate out of New Zealand as cement carrier, then to end her days in Canada, that was some career for this yellow peril!
