The new Nigerian inland tanker "Mayon", 3056 ts (EU no: 4804690), which arrived at the Lagos roadstead just a week ago after being transferred from Germany, broke down on the night of 27 August. of the ship to which he was moored. The boat then proceeded to Oniru Beach in Lekky. The hull buckled and a large crack opened, meaning the tanker's career may be over. It was not sold to Nigeria until July. The ship previously operated as Lea, Esso 7, Spaarnestroom and then as Mayon homeported in Marktheidenfeld.

I am very supprised that she made it from the Netherlands to Lagos!
These vessels are for sure not built for the Atlantic.
Cheers, Jan

IMO number deleted - as a river vessel, she won't have one. LDT will probably be under 1,000 tonnes
