The Turkish Edirne tanker has sunk after an explosion in the cargo tanks. The tanker had unloaded more than 3,000 tons of fuel in the Albanian port of Durres in the Adriatic, as it exploded three miles after leaving the harbor again. 12 crew members survived.

Two Ukrainian crewmembers from Edirne is hospitalized with injuries, but not in acute danger, according to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman at the embassy in Greece, Oleksandr Dykusarov.

The reason why the ship exploded, are believed to be improper cleaning and degassing of tanks after unloading the fuel.
