The green-hulled STAR actually looks great, and I can get used to the SUPERSTAR, she definitely stands out!
The SUPERSTAR looks very very similar to the MOBY WONDER/FREEDOM/AKI. Only the funnel is different. Wasn't she originally ordered by Moby Lines? I seem to recall something like that, but I am not sure...

Phil and Cornelia, I really do think that the livery of the Superstar is utterly awful. Likewise the designs on the NCL cruise ships are almost as horrible. I really do prefer ships to have monochrome hulls, or even Orient Lines corn colour or perhaps Cunard's cruising green! Yes,I ought to get out more.....but when I do it is no longer in search of ships to photograph. Sharing the weekend with Mr DOT? Oh please, I hope not!!

Nothing against a bit of provocation ! That one is a true punk of a ferry :-) Seen that one myself this summer on the way to Russia, together with it's poison-green sistership(?)"Star". A real sight, like it or not, but a sight you won't forget, unlike back in the times when ships hulls were only boring white, black or grey. I actually prefer punk-ferries over that ;)

Clive, if you are actually offended by something as trivial as a ship's colour scheme, you should get out more. I am joking of course. Have a great, grumpy weekend, will you be sharing it with Mr DOT? :-)

All the best
Phil

My blood pressure is perfectly normal but I'd think, from the tone of your posting, that you had better get yours checked out fairly soon. As for ignoring pictures on this site, I thought the site was here for us to enjoy and perhaps even comment on the pictures, to share information, views and opinions. There would be no point at all in having this facility if all we were expected to do was say something along the lines of 'oh, wow, fantastic.' Though I have to confess to having made such comments here as well.

I do think some of you old, miseryguts people need to lighten up a bit and drag yourselves into the 21st Century.
Shocking the colours and grafitti may be but they are happy, fun and funny and, in this case up in the Baltic, must help brighten up the long, dark winter months for the people who see her.
Members who find photos of ships like this 'offensive' can remedy the situation by simply ignoring them and, at the same time keep their blood pressure stable by resisting the urge to wind themselves up by writing so many "disgusted" comments .

Based upon the fact that it offends me! It is crass, ugly and hideous but this poor ship is not alone in that. This present fashion for hull graffiti is most regrettable. The sooner it passes the better.
