AUSTRALIAN COMMONWEALTH GOVERNMENT LINE

Lb: 137.2 x 17.7 metres. Steel single screw steamship (cargo-refrigerated) built by Flensburger Schiffsbau Ges., Flensburg for Deutsche-Australische Linie, Hamburg as the Melbourne .

Triple expansion engine making 12.5 knots. 1914 seized by Australia at at Sydney, renamed Boonah. Became WW1 transport A36. Sold 1925 renamed Witram for N.D.L. (Norddeutscher Lloyd, Bremen).

1936 to Hamburg-South America Line. 1937 renamed Buenos Aires. 1940 torpedoed and sunk (57.00N/11.35E 1.5.40) by HMS Narwhal
